Who we are
Bion is a connected health and safety service designed to help families stay connected to the people they care about. This policy explains what personal information we collect through the Bion website, app, smartwatch and related services, why we collect it, how we use it, and the choices you have regarding your information.
What we collect
Depending on how you use Bion, we may collect information such as your name, email address, phone number, account details, delivery information and payment-related information. When using the Bion watch and app, we may also process information such as heart-rate readings, fall-detection events, SOS events, device information and location data. We collect only the information needed to provide, maintain and improve the Bion service.
Health & safety information
ion is designed to help families stay informed about important health and safety signals. Some information collected through the Bion watch may relate to a person’s health and therefore may be considered health data under applicable data-protection law. Such data is subject to additional protection under the GDPR. We use this information to provide the Bion monitoring and alerting features, such as heart-rate monitoring, fall detection and safety notifications. Where required, we will obtain the appropriate consent or rely on another legally valid basis for processing this information.
Location data
Bion may process location information from the watch to provide location-related features. Location data may be used to allow authorised users connected to the Bion account to see the watch’s location and to support safety-related functionality. Location information is not used for unrelated purposes without an appropriate legal basis.
How we use your information
We use personal information to: * Create and manage your Bion account * Provide the Bion watch and app services * Connect the watch with authorised family members * Process orders, payments and subscriptions * Provide health and safety monitoring * Send important alerts and notifications * Provide customer and technical support * Maintain and improve our products and services * Protect our systems and prevent misuse * Meet our legal and regulatory obligations We do not sell your personal information.
Why we process your information
Depending on the type of information and how you use Bion, we may process personal information because it is necessary to provide a product or service you have requested, to comply with a legal obligation, based on our legitimate interests, or where required, on the basis of your consent. GDPR requires organisations to identify an appropriate legal basis for each processing activity. For health-related information, additional GDPR requirements may apply because health data is a special category of personal data.
When someone buys Bion for another person
Bion may be purchased by one person and used by another. For example, a family member may purchase Bion for a parent or grandparent. In these situations, information relating to the watch user may be provided by the purchaser or created through the use of the Bion device. We aim to make sure that the appropriate person is informed about how their information is used and that the necessary permissions or legal bases are in place.
Payments & subscriptions
Payments for Bion products and subscriptions may be processed by third-party payment providers. We do not need to store your full payment card details on our own systems when payment processing is handled by our payment provider. Payment providers may process information according to their own privacy policies and applicable security requirements.
Cookies & analytics
Our website may use cookies and similar technologies to keep the site working, understand how visitors use it, and improve the experience. Where required, non-essential cookies will only be used with your consent. You can manage or withdraw your cookie choices through the available cookie settings on our website.

Different types of information may therefore be kept for different periods. When information is no longer required, we will delete it or anonymise it where appropriate.
Keeping your information secure
We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal information against unauthorised access, loss, misuse, alteration or disclosure. Because Bion involves information about health, safety and location, protecting this information is an important part of how we design and operate the service.
